I measured the combustion chambers at 100cc. Using a CR calculator puts this cr at 9.4:1. This thing seems like it should make big power with the right cam and intake. I've no clue if the Fastburn chamber design existed before the Vortec heads, but even if it did, that design can probably be considered revolutionary. Head flow numbers are not the only indicator of a good head, and apparently the L29 Vortec heads also have a re-designed chamber, although I can't find any specs/pictures of it.The heads were all done making usable power by 5500 on my 454, even with the bigger cam and good intake. They should make good torque on you larger engine at low RPM, just be careful about detonation they don't need much timing. Mine ran best with only 30 degrees total. They have a very good smaller exhaust port and a modern excellent fast-burn, heart-shaped 100 cc chamber.
